After leaving sixth form, unlike many of her friends Chinelle Brandford didn’t choose the university route, instead she chose to do an apprenticeship in Digital Marketing & Social Media at Google. In 2016, Haringey Council made her the face of apprenticeships. In 2022, Chinelle was awarded as one of the PMW 30 under 30 winners for the successful work across her clients during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, Chinelle has led the growth of the Cross Channel team at EssenceMediacom for Mars, being the first team member in 2023 and it now having 7 team members, 18 months later, by looking at how EssenceMediacom can create and refine the ways of working, roles & responsibilities, learning agenda and overall processes across the account; Chinelle has helped the team of 52 specialists that work on activating campaigns feel empowered in their day to day activities. Her passion for digital marketing, people and results combined has helped her drive success and a more positive culture within her agency. Chinelle takes pride in being a mentor within the industry supporting individuals through various programs including Black Girls In Tech and has recently started a program within her agency to connect future leaders with current leaders. Being someone without a degree, female and from the #BAME community, Chinelle have helped to encourage diversity & inclusion within the industry. Chinelle has challenged the norms and proven that anyone, from any background can deliver results and be an inspiration.
