Karen Stacey’s 35 year career spans TV, radio, digital and magazines. So when she took the reins at DCM she couldn’t wait to apply her leadership learnings to cinema - a powerful medium whose light was most definitely being hidden under the pro-verbial bushel.

What the market saw was an ‘old fashioned’ medium with ‘nice’ people to do business with. What Karen saw was the answer to the industry’s trust and attention issues and a team that had no idea just how good they actually were! Prior to the pandemic DCM had enjoyed five years of record breaking growth. But then Covid struck and revenue dropped to zero overnight. The journey from complete closure to rebuilding a company, team, and industry reputation was undoubtedly the biggest test of Karen’s career, and the latest figures show the resilience of her leadership and her remarkable team to bounce back even stronger.
