As Co-Founder, Director, Writer and Creative Director at UNIT9, Michelle is a multiskilled creative and highly-esteemed leader with big ambitions and unparalleled passion. From film to experiential, she carries her empathetic approach to direction across every project she touches. Her award-winning and wide-ranging work - from creating the world’s first voice-activated escape room for Amazon, through to the live direction of a virtual concert in Minecraft, breaking the internet with a Facebook Live Game of Thrones launch, and directing LA Shorts Fest-selected film ‘Try a Little Tendernsa’ - gives audiences something fresh every time. Over the years, she has collected Cannes Lions, Clios, One Club and D&AD trophies, as well as being named in AdWeek’s Top 10 Directors to watch.

Having founded UNIT9 Films, UNIT9 US and tv & film offshoot Nowhere, Michelle’s influence on the company’s growth is clear. Led by Michelle and her partners, in just three years Nowhere has produced five feature films with a tv series currently in development. Her vision is to continue growing the UNIT9 business whilst playing an active creative role writing and directing for all divisions. What really makes Michelle stand apart is her constant celebration and guidance of fellow creatives - whether it's bringing in and supporting new directors on the UNIT9 roster, or elevating artists through her personal initiatives such as Barking Owl Sessions, launched with a friend during lockdown. Michelle’s mentorship of her peers has become a natural and daily part of her role, and a much valued contribution to the company.
