Molly Towers Mode

EssenceMediacom UK

Senior Associate Director

Molly Towers Mode is the youngest person at EssenceMediacom to become a Senior Associate Director, having joined the agency as an apprentice – bypassing the traditional university education route which dominated advertising until very recently. Molly’s career achievements include award-winning work for major advertisers like The Coca-Cola Company and Cinch. In 2022, she set up a women’s sports consultancy at EssenceMediacom, following the Lionesses’ Euros win, to encourage investment into female sports, working with the likes of Adidas, Google and Sky. Molly namechecks those who have paved the way, citing Karen Blackett OBE as her role model. Blackett, now UK President of WPP, set up the EssenceMediacom apprenticeship scheme when she was CEO of the agency. “I have every intention to continue her legacy at EssenceMediacom, to lead our industry to become a place celebrated for equal access and opportunity; for championing diverse voices and talent,” says Molly. Molly’s already doing it. She is the founder & co-chair of EssenceMediacom’s LGBTQIA+ Community Group across London and the North Group (six offices). Molly's organised Pride activities across all UK offices every year since 2018. Molly’s played a role in developing internal policies, including the introduction of unisex bathrooms and encouraging the use of pronouns in email signatures. She also advises HR recruitment on attracting diverse talent. Molly’s an Inclusive Planning network lead – challenging and consulting for clients to embed DEI in their advertising. Molly raises and debates key issues in the wider industry as a monthly columnist for Media Pride.
