Nicky Bullard

MullenLowe UK

Chief Creative Officer

Nicky describes herself a creative activist.

She’s spent her career making work and noise for clients and causes; not just to sell stuff, but to change stuff. Nicky is Group Chief Creative Officer of MullenLowe UK, overseeing and championing the agency’s creative output, championing gender and age equality (Nicky was invited to speak on ageism in the ad industry at the United Nations NYC in February), and championing change within the industry. Over the years she has campaigned on behalf of the invisible though award-winning creativity: from women affected by miscarriage (The Miscarriage Association/Cards of Acknowledgement), to helping women to thrive post war and conflict (Women for Women International) to raising awareness and reports of women affected by domestic violence during lockdown (NoMore and UN Women). So what has she been up to in the last 12 months? Nicky has been leading the charge for systemic change through creativity, with the ALT ALTS campaign for RNIB (Royal National Institute for Blind People). What started as a small kernel of an idea from one of her teams has become not just an award-winning campaign, but a potential game changer for the global creative industry. And the client at this point wasn’t a client. Until Nicky called him and said “Hey Martin, we have an idea I just have to share.”
