Lucy Muggleton, a midweight copywriter at McCann in Birmingham, is a rising star in the advertising industry, celebrated for her compassion, leadership, and commitment to inclusivity. Since joining McCann as an intern in 2021, Lucy has demonstrated resilience and determination, overcoming personal challenges, including a significant mental health struggle and being deaf in one ear, to become a compassionate and empathetic colleague.

In her creative career, she has played a pivotal role in the Birmingham 2022 recruitment campaign, as well as helped deliver campaigns like CrossCountry Trains’ Unsung Pastimes and Thomas Cook’s Deflatables, which raised awareness of environmental issues. As a member of McCann’s Margot Collective, Lucy has championed female voices, contributing to campaigns such as the celebration of women’s football. Beyond the workplace, Lucy is a driving force for diversity and inclusion. As Chairperson of McCann’s Conscious Inclusion Council, she has spearheaded initiatives like neurodiversity webinars, Birmingham Pride participation, and wellness programmes including Sound Bath sessions. She also moderates McCann’s global Day for Meaning, fostering a culture of inclusivity. Lucy’s dedication to mentoring the next generation is equally impactful. From hosting workshops at the University of Birmingham to supporting IPA’s Advertising Unlocked event, she equips young creatives with the tools to succeed. Outside work, Lucy fundraises for charities such as Kids’ Village and Macmillan Cancer Support and volunteers with the Scouts Association, enriching young lives.
